GMV expands rail technology footprint in Asia-Pacific through Freightquip partnership

GMV continues to strengthen its international presence in the rail sector with the signing of a strategic agreement with Freightquip Pty Ltd, which has been appointed the exclusive distributor of GMV’s intelligent transportation systems (ITS) portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.

Under the agreement, Freightquip will be responsible for the sales, installation, and support of GMV’s full suite of onboard technologies in both countries, further expanding the company’s presence in a region that offers significant growth opportunities for the rail industry.

Already deployed across metro, tram, and rail networks on five continents, GMV’s ITS portfolio comprises four core solutions: SAE-R^®, a fleet management and passenger information platform; DV-rec, a digital onboard video surveillance system; PA & Intercom, a public address and emergency communications solution; and INFO-Pass, an integrated visual passenger information system.

All of these systems hold international certifications and are designed to integrate with existing rail infrastructure, whether in new-build projects or fleet modernization programs.

The partnership with GMV will bring technology already proven on some of the world’s most demanding rail networks to the Australian market. In addition to commercial distribution, Freightquip will provide comprehensive regional support, including system design, supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance services. The agreement marks another step forward in GMV’s international growth strategy and strengthens the position of its rail solutions in key Asia-Pacific markets.
