Innovation and entrepreneurship: GMV hallmarks supporting the Innormadrid Awards

GMV supported the Madrid Norte Digital- Knowledge & Tech Transfer Awards another year. They are part of the Madrid Norte Transfiere project, with support from the Social Council of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). The awards recognize and support the implementation of digital solutions, both from UAM researchers and from the private sector, giving visibility to the most innovative projects with the biggest potential for growth, in order to encourage the transfer of knowledge and technology between science and the company.

The awards ceremony took place on April 11, 2024 at the Rector’s Office of UAM's Cantoblanco Campus in Madrid. Javier Zubieta, director of Marketing and Communications for GMV’s Secure e-Solutions participated in the event with Amaya Mendikoetxea, rector of UAM; Félix Zamora, vice rector of Transfer, Innovation, and Culture at UAM; Eduardo Sicilia, chairman of the UAM Social Council; Luis Suárez de Lezo, secretary general of InNorMadrid and AICA; and Ana Ramírez de Molina, deputy minister of Universities, Research, and Science of the Community of Madrid.

Zubieta highlighted the nature and origin of GMV based on innovation and transfer between academia and the company. In fact, the multinational engineering firm celebrating its 40th anniversary this year was founded as a result of a commitment made by a professor at the School of Aeronautical Engineering, Dr. Juan José Martínez García, for his ingenuity creating the Flight Mechanics professor's working group, the true root of GMV. Javier Zubieta handed out the award for Intelligence Aygloo's Explainable AI Platform.

The deputy minister of Universities of the Community of Madrid, Ana Ramírez de Molina, congratulated the GMV representatives at the event, praising the company’s major achievements over the last few years, which Javier Zubieta had outlined in his speech.
