CopPhil en Philippine Space Week

Following the success of previous years, Philippine Space Week returned from August 8 to 14 in Quezon City under the theme “Navigating Tomorrow.” Led by the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), the event once again brought together companies, government authorities, and space agencies for discussions on the space sector, with a particular focus on space awareness.

GMV took part in the event through CopPhil, a European-Philippine cooperation initiative working to ensure that the Philippines can freely access and use data from Copernicus, the European Union’s Earth observation program. Through its involvement in CopPhil, GMV is encouraging resource uptake in areas such as environmental protection, disaster risk reduction, and climate resilience.

During the event, the company delivered several training sessions on the forest monitoring products developed under CopPhil, drawing on the capabilities of eoForest, GMV’s forest geoinformation solution. The sessions explored how satellite data can support forest mapping and monitoring, providing valuable insights for better decision-making.

GMV also took part in the Philippine Space Week exhibition at the CopPhil stand, where it showcased the work carried out under the project and the developed solutions.
