GMV expands its presence in Morocco with 126 new ticket validators in Rabat’s bus network

GMV will supply 126 new ticket validators to increase the capacity of the electronic fare collection system in Rabat’s bus network. The new equipment will be integrated into the existing infrastructure, building on the technology modernization project that GMV has been carrying out for the Moroccan capital’s public transportation system since 2018.

The expansion has been designed to ensure compatibility with the bus network’s current operating environment and meet the requirements established by the transit authority. Maintaining technological continuity will streamline the integration of the new validators, reduce integration risks, and guarantee consistency with the present collection system.

The new equipment is expected to be supplied within 20 weeks of the order being formalized and will be covered by a two-year warranty from the delivery date of each batch.

The expansion builds on GMV’s previous work to modernize an initial fleet of 350 buses in Rabat. As part of the original project, the company deployed a range of intelligent transportation systems, including electronic fare collection, computer-aided dispatch / automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL), and passenger information systems.

The latest rollout strengthens GMV’s presence in the Moroccan market and reflects continued confidence in its technology, which has supported the day-to-day operation of Rabat’s public transportation network for several years.
