40th edition of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications Forum

GMV will participate as a sponsor in the 40th edition of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications Forum, organized by AMETIC together with Banco Santander Spain and Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP), and taking place from 31 August to 2 September in Santander.

With the theme “40 Years Driving Spain’s Social and Economic Growth,” the conference will bring together representatives from institutions and companies, as well as technology sector leaders, to analyze the main challenges and opportunities of digital transformation. The program will address key issues such as competitiveness and technological leadership, the impact of artificial intelligence as a driver of the country’s transformation, and the development of strategic technologies to strengthen Europe’s autonomy and digital future.

This year’s event will feature prominent government officials, including Óscar López, the minister for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, and Jordi Hereu, the minister of Industry and Tourism, further establishing the event as one of the leading forums for discussing the present and future of the digital economy in Spain.

As a sponsor of the conference, GMV is reaffirming its commitment to promoting technological innovation and collaboration among industry, government agencies, and the digital ecosystem. The company will also participate in two sessions during the event.

Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, general manager of GMV’s Secure e-Solutions Sector and chair of AMETIC’s Dual-Use Technologies for Defence Committee, will moderate the panel discussion on the theme of “Ecosystem: Innovating to Protect. The Industry Driving Strategic Autonomy,” focusing on the role of the technology industry in strengthening Europe’s strategic capabilities.

Meanwhile, Carlos Royo, director of Health Strategy at GMV and vice-chair of AMETIC’s Digital Health Committee, will moderate the “Digitalization in the Healthcare Sector” panel discussion, which will examine the progress, challenges, and opportunities presented by the digital transformation of the healthcare system.
