Organized in Gijón by Club de Calidad, the Quantum Asturias alliance, and CTIC Technology Center, the event examined the progress and maturity of quantum technologies, as well as their potential business applications. The program brought together representatives from the European Commission and the Spanish Quantum Alliance, alongside companies and organizations from the scientific and technology sectors.During the panel discussion, Sánchez emphasized the need for companies to identify which business processes could benefit from quantum computing and rethink how problems and solutions are formulated to ensure that it delivers real value. She also stressed that while companies should be preparing to take advantage of quantum technologies, they cannot afford to wait to address the associated security challenges. In this context, she highlighted Quantum Madrid for Innovation and New Developments ( Q-MIND), a GMV-led project aimed at accelerating the transfer of quantum knowledge from research laboratories to real-world applications. To tackle security challenges, Q-MIND brings together capabilities in quantum computing, secure quantum communications, and post-quantum cryptography. The points raised by GMV were echoed in the subsequent panel discussion, which also emphasized the need to rethink how problems are formulated to identify quantum applications with the potential to deliver value.Q-MIND is co-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), as part of a Community of Madrid program led by the Regional Ministry of Education, Science, and Universities.
