GMV participates in the Instituto de Empresa’s Data Competition

Last 3 and 4 June, the Data Dive was held at the IE’s facilities in Madrid, organised by the Big Data Club and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The Datathon consisted in a 24-hour competition in which BID, as co-organisers, challenged the participants to obtain business conclusions and recommendations; in this case, with respect to the BID’s online courses on the Edx platform.

José Carlos Baquero, Head of the Software Technology and Services Development Division at GMV, and Pablo González, Data Scientist at GMV, took part in the competition as mentor and jury member respectively. As well as networking with IE students, our experts explained to those attending GMW’s potential and its projects related to Big Data.

IE’s Big Data Club is largely composed of international Big Data Masters’ students. The organisation’s mission is to promote Big Data and explain its methods to students and companies. GMV willingly cooperated in this initiative to improve professional profiles in the world of Big Data.
