GMV adapts ATM cybersecurity to the new threats

GMV has taken part in London’s ATM Security 2016 as one of the event’s main sponsors. Jointly organized by ATMIA Europe (ATM Industry Association) and RBR (Retail Banking Research), this event is considered to be world’s main ATM security conference. The main focus this year was protection from logical attacks.

Juan Jesús León Cobos, Director of Products and New Developments of GMV Secure e-Solutions, and Eddie Lackie, Lead ATM Stack Engineer at Barclays Bank (UK), gave a paper entitled "ATM Logical Security: adaptation to the new threats". The paper ran through the main emerging threats, most of them stemming from organized crime, and the need of adapting ATM security models to suit. Both companies, more particularly, explained how Barclays have improved their ATM cybersecurity with GMV’s support.

Other congress speakers, such as Olesya Danilchenko, representative of the Ukrainian Interbank Payment Systems Member Association EMA and member of the Advisory Group on financial services of Europol EC3, also explained how GMV’s checker ATM Security has helped to fend off a huge amount of ATM attacks in Ukraine in recent years.
