GMV showcases its experience in Industry 4.0 projects

Valencia University (Universitat de València) has organized the Data 2.0 Conference (Jornadas de Datos 2.0). One of the participants was Pablo González, Data Scientist of GMV Secure e-Solutions, who gave a paper on the advantages of Big Data technologies for industry. In particular he presented the use case of one of the main companies of the Oil&Gas sector, whose collaboration with GMV stems from its goal of making itself one of the world’s most efficient refineries, optimizing both its availability and energy consumption.

As González explained, the project “combines the work of experts with different profiles, such as data scientists chemists, computer scientists and business consultants”, all of them “collaborating with each other to roll out a sensor network based on IoT technology, a platform in the cloud for integrating data from different sources and developing machine-learning algorithms for modeling and optimizing plant processes”.

GMV’s expert described the experience built up by the company in Industry 4.0 projects during previous interventions in industrial process modeling plans using technologies based on Internet of Things, Cloud Computing or Machine Learning. He laid special stress on the possibility of simultaneously using all available technology to maximize plant performance and thus obtain immediate profit from the right investment.

During the conference the various companies presented diverse Industry 4.0 projects, generating a debate about the likely trend over coming years and the ways of producing and working in industry.
