The event brought together border authorities from the Member States, industry representatives, and experts with the goal of strengthening European border security through the development of solutions based on digital twins and data from Copernicus, the European Union’s Earth observation program.After winning the 2025 Frontex Prize Contest with a digital twin solution for a Copernicus-based border surveillance service, GMV took part in “Digital Twin Frontiers 2026”, where it presented its digital twin solution for border surveillance. This technology makes it possible to create a dynamic representation of complex real-world environments, integrate different sources of information, and analyze various operational scenarios. During the event, Jorge Fernández, project manager at GMV, demonstrated how digital twins can provide a more comprehensive operational picture, support decision-making, and improve situational awareness in border environments.The event served as a forum for exchanging knowledge on the future of European border security and gathered organizations specializing in geospatial data, Earth observation, innovation, and security.
