As part of the event, the company hosted the Skills Lab “Improving Recognition of ILD: Combining Clinical Expertise and Artificial Intelligence”, which explored how artificial intelligence can help recognize and diagnose diffuse interstitial lung diseases (ILDs).Carlos Illana, Product Manager at GMV, introduced the session, which featured Dr. María Molina, head of the Interstitial Lung Disease Functional Unit at Bellvitge University Hospital, and Dr. Emilio Cuesta, head of Thoracic Radiology at La Paz University Hospital. Both specialists addressed one of the main challenges associated with these conditions: how complex they are to identify and diagnose. ILDs comprise a heterogeneous group of diseases whose patterns can differ in very subtle ways, which makes accurate characterization difficult. In this context, they showed how u-Steer, GMV’s AI-based solution, can support specialists in analyzing these cases and help speed up the diagnostic process. The Skills Lab had a strong hands-on focus. Following the presentations, the roughly 150 attendees were able to try out u-Steer at three stations set up by GMV, see firsthand how the application works, and share their impressions with the team. The demonstrations generated particular interest in the tool’s ability to detect a range of findings in medical imaging and offered an in-depth look at its potential to support professionals dealing with conditions that are highly complex to diagnose.Through its participation in ERS Congress 2026, GMV brought artificial intelligence closer to clinical practice, combining medical knowledge and technology to address one of today’s challenges in respiratory medicine.
