The Spanish Space Agency (AEE) has awarded GMV the contract to perform calibration and continuous monitoring of EU Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) sensor network’s performance. The contract, associated with tender 2024/00000050, represents a major initiative designed to enhance and monitor the operational availability and data quality of Europe’s space surveillance and tracking (EU SST) capabilities.

In partnership with Deimos, GMV will develop and deploy a comprehensive software module that enables real-time monitoring of sensor performance and continuous calibration across national and European sensor networks, including commercial assets.

The service will incorporate advanced data analysis and orbit determination techniques to detect anomalies, manage calibration campaigns, and maintain high-quality data throughout the entire EU SST system. The project also covers the production of technical reports, monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational support for task assignment and sensor coordination.

A key deliverable will be a calibration module that manages multiple calibration modes (routine, flash, and continuous) and integrates fully with the current S3TOC operational architecture.

This contract reinforces GMV’s leadership in European space security and confirms its support for the AEE at a time when Spain is assuming a leading role in the EU SST partnership.

The project has received funding from European Union programs under contract EUSST2023-2026GA.
