GMV takes part in AMOS Conference on space surveillance

GMV participated in the 27^th edition of the Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies (AMOS) Conference, held September 15-18 in Maui, Hawaii, United States. Organized by the Maui Economic Development Board (MEDB), AMOS is widely regarded as the premier technical conference in the United States dedicated to space situational awareness (SSA) and space domain awareness (SDA).

The conference brought together representatives from industry, government agencies, the military, research centers, and universities from around the world. The program featured keynote presentations, space policy forums, technical sessions, short courses, and an exhibit hall, addressing technological advances and challenges in space surveillance, the sustainability of the orbital environment, and the safety of space operations.

During the event, GMV had a stand in the exhibit hall and presented two technical papers highlighting different areas of the company’s work in space surveillance and security. Alejandro Pastor Rodríguez, SST and STM Lead at GMV Germany, presented a paper on improving the cataloging of low Earth orbit (LEO) objects in the face of uncertainties driven by space weather. Jack McHugh, SST and Flight Dynamics Engineer at GMV UK, presented a paper on the near-real-time detection and characterization of non-cooperative launches using optimized sensor networks and boost-phase trajectory estimation.

The GMV team also met with space agencies, government organizations, companies, and research institutions to strengthen international collaboration and explore new opportunities in the space sector.
