The project brings together a consortium of 17 large companies, SMEs, research centers, and end users to improve maritime surveillance capabilities and maritime situational awareness (MSA), while also fostering greater cooperation among countries and organizations. To this end, CROSSMARE is developing a multi-layered maritime surveillance network and an interoperability framework capable of integrating information from space, air, surface, and underwater domains into a unified operational view. The project combines state-of-the-art technology, advanced artificial intelligence algorithms, and the evolution of current command and control (C2) systems and human-machine interfaces (HMI), while promoting interoperability among both new and existing surveillance solutions. In this context, GMV will contribute its expertise in critical command and control systems, multisensor data fusion, maritime surveillance, and border security, as well as its capabilities in systems integration, cybersecurity, and interoperability. The company will also participate in the development of the project’s data lake and in the implementation of data fusion and early warning services, drawing on proven solutions such as Socrates C2, a scalable command-and-control system for multi-domain information management. In addition, GMV will contribute to the integration of CROSSMARE’s various components, platforms, and services, as well as to the adoption of the expanded CISE (Common Information Sharing Environment) model, promoting interoperability between innovative technologies and real-world operational environments. With these capabilities, CROSSMARE aims to bring next-generation interoperable maritime surveillance technologies closer to real-world operational use, thereby enhancing situational awareness, operational efficiency, and cross-border cooperation among European maritime security authorities.
