EU Space Days 2026

GMV participated in EU Space Days 2026, one of the European Union’s leading events for space policy, business and innovation, held on 26 and 27 May in Nicosia, Cyprus. Organized by the European Commission (DG DEFIS) under the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the meeting brought together representatives of government institutions, policymakers, space industry leaders, companies, investors, and experts to discuss the future of the European space ecosystem.

This year’s edition focused on strategic issues for the sector, such as competitiveness, resilience, sustainability, and Europe’s strategic autonomy in the space domain, at a key time for the evolution of European space policies and capabilities.

María Antonia Ramos, head of policy and business development for Space Traffic Management at GMV, participated in the "EU Space Act: Strengthening Safety, Resilience and Sustainability in Space” session, held on the event’s main stage on 26 May. The conversation addressed the role of the future EU Space Act in the regulation and promotion of European space activities, with special attention to safety, orbital sustainability, and the development of a competitive and responsible space sector.

In her remarks during the panel discussion, which included representatives from the European Commission and the GSOA European Regional Group, Ramos shared GMV’s expertise and vision in the field of space traffic management. She conveyed the company’s perspective on the challenges associated with the safe and sustainable use of space, as well as the need to promote regulatory frameworks that favor the growth of the sector and the protection of the orbital environment.
