Against this backdrop, GMV was in Barcelona to participate in Advanced Factories 2026, Europe’s leading industrial innovation event, showcasing how technologies such as autonomous robotics, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing are transforming the production environments of the future. In the space shared with AER Automation, GMV presented its technological proposal for tackling some of the industry’s main current challenges: improving operational efficiency, strengthening organizations’ resilience, and protecting critical infrastructure in increasingly digitalized and automated environments. One of the main highlights was uPathWay ®, the intelligent platform developed by GMV for the management, orchestration, and optimization of heterogeneous robot fleets in complex industrial environments. Live demonstrations of the solution were conducted during the conference, showcasing ability to coordinate different types of robots in a centralized and efficient way. uPathWay ® was designed with a completely hardware-agnostic approach, facilitating interoperability between platforms and manufacturers and reducing technological dependence on a single supplier, one of the most significant challenges in today’s industrial automation processes. Furthermore, its modular architecture based on a marketplace of features makes it possible to incorporate capabilities gradually, flexibly and in a scalable way, adapting to each organization’s operational needs and facilitating the evolution of automated environments. GMV was also honored at the event’s Factories of the Future Awards 2026, where uPathWay ® won the “Best Industrial Equipment for the Factory of the Future” award. The panel highlighted the technological maturity, versatility, and applicability of the solution in different sectors and industrial use cases, including autonomous monitoring of facilities, perimeter surveillance, inspection of complex assets, and autonomous transport of materials.Ángel C. Lázaro, the head of Robotics and Automation for GMV’s Industry Sector, also participated in the Industry 4.0 Congress with “Inspección industrial inteligente: robótica autónoma y colaborativa impulsada por VLMs” [Smart Industrial Inspection: Autonomous and Collaborative Robotics Powered by VLMs], exploring the potential of visual language models and collaborative robotics applied to cutting-edge industrial inspection.
