Space engineering in the classrooms of the French Lycée in Madrid
The French Lycée in Madrid held its Careers Forum on 26 November. Javier Atapuerca, Head of the Mission Analysis and Systems Studies Section at GMV, took part in the event by giving a talk to 14- and 15-year-old students.
Javier shared his professional experience and career development at GMV with the students, taking them on a journey through his work on flight dynamics for geostationary satellites and for the ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle – missions to transport supplies and equipment to the International Space Station), as well as his involvement in more recent projects such as the European Copernicus and Galileo programs and active space debris removal missions. During his talk, he highlighted the importance of teamwork as the common thread running through all the projects he has worked on.
GMV actively encourages employees to take part in initiatives aimed at students, aware of the importance of fostering interest in STEM education paths.
