The knowledge -generation in advanced materials, intelligent manufacturing and space debris management has become an essential pillar for boosting the space industry and meeting today's exploration, communications and sustainability challenges. On 6 June last GMV hosted the conference “Accelerating Aerospace Innovation”, an event organized by the Tekniker Technology and Research Center as part of the Technological Conference 2025.

The initiative, held as part of the ECOAERO project -financed by the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) through the Cervera Networks of Excellence- brought together professionals, companies, technology centers and institutional representatives with the aim of sharing advances, identifying real needs and fostering strategic alliances to strengthen the competitiveness of the aeronautical and space sector.

The scheme included presentations and round tables on key topics such as global competitiveness, sustainable digitalization, zero debris, the use of innovative materials and efficient design.

The conference was opened by Pedro J. Schoch, GMV's Director of Corporate Development, Marketing and Communication; Luis Uriarte, CEO of Tekniker; and Cecilia Hernández, Director of Programs and Industry of the Spanish Space Agency.

GMV was represented by Miguel Ángel Molina, Deputy General Manager of EST Space Systems, on the ‘Contextualization’ panel and Marian Ramos, Head of Policy and Business Development in Space Traffic Management, who moderated the panel on ‘Digitalization and Sustainability’.

By backing initiatives of this type GMV is reinforcing its commitment to the search for and promotion of technological solutions that will bring Spain's space sector up to the European cutting edge.
