GMV presents real use cases of innovative technologies applied to the energy industry at Trends Forum 2025

Almudena Nieto GMV presenta casos de uso reales de tecnologías innovadoras aplicadas al sector energético en el Foro Tendencias 2025

Almudena Nieto, Head of Business Development for GMV’s Energy and Utilities sector, recently gave a presentation at the event known as Trends Forum 2025, organized by the enerTIC platform. The most recent edition took place under the theme “Energy companies, technological solutions, and innovation”. Her presentation was entitled “Innovation at the service of energy companies: Use cases”, and she addressed one of the main technological challenges facing the energy industry: safe and efficient integration of advanced solutions such as robotics and artificial intelligence in complex operating environments.

She explained that “robotics is advancing at a rapid pace, and this requires independent management platforms that are compatible with any type of robot, for use in a range of environmental settings. The aim is to protect personal safety and optimize processes, such as those used for inspecting energy facilities”.

GMV is helping to overcome these challenges through the use of technological solutions that can support the strategic objectives of energy companies: operational efficiency, process optimization, safety, resilience, regulatory compliance, early detection of anomalies, and product quality improvement.

The use cases she discussed included application of autonomous robotics for inspecting electrical substations, refineries, and solar power plants, made possible by application of the uPathWay solution. This is a scalable platform for robot management, which allows integration of multiple devices made by different manufacturers, for their use in a variety of operational scenarios.

She also presented some relevant cases involving the GMV PitIA solution, which is based on artificial intelligence. It can be applied for detecting anomalies in R&D laboratories, with the aim of improving the quality of products such as oils and biofuels, while also speeding up development cycles.

GMV’s participation at this Trends Forum 2025 event reflects the company’s firm commitment to developing and implementing innovative technologies that can help drive the twin transition, all in line with the principles of sustainability, safety, and innovation.
