GMV joins the European Space Agency's Declaration for a Responsible Space Sector

GMV has taken a new step forward in its commitment to sustainability and responsible use of space by officially signing up to the "Declaration for a Responsible Space Sector." Driven by the European Space Agency (ESA) and launched in 2022, the "Responsible Space Sector" initiative responds to growing concerns about the environmental, social, and ethical impacts of expanding space activities. The statement, which is voluntary and open to the entire space community, seeks to reinforce the sustainability of space as an operating environment, as well as its positive contribution to life on Earth.
By joining the initiative, GMV is committing to act responsibly throughout the entire life cycle of its space activities, promoting sustainable innovation, minimizing environmental impact, and fostering international collaboration. The approach promotes not only the protection of the already saturated and vulnerable orbital environment, but also an integrated vision of the role of space in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With its commitment, GMV joins a growing number of organizations that recognize the urgency of preserving space as a common good. At a time when the proliferation of satellites, the accumulation of orbital debris, and the challenges surrounding global space governance are at the center of international debate, the signing of this initiative positions GMV among the leaders committed to a more transparent, ethical, and sustainable industry.
Participation in this framework also reinforces GMV's space safety strategy, in which the company plays a benchmark role both in Europe and worldwide.
The signing took place on June 19 during the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget (June 16-22), a key meeting point for the main players in the global aerospace industry.
