GMV participates in the presentation of the Quantum Technologies Strategy for Spain 2025-2030

GMV participa en la Jornada de presentación de la Estrategia de Tecnologías Cuánticas de España 2025-2030

On April 24th, Enrique Crespo took part in a roundtable discussion titled “Deploying Quantum Technologies”, moderated by Carlos Kuchkovsky (CEO of QCentroid and representative of AMETIC). The event was organized by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities in collaboration with the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration. Held at Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Madrid, the purpose of the event was to present the institutional push for quantum technologies in Spain, as outlined in the newly launched “Quantum Technologies Strategy for Spain 2025-2030”, which is backed by an 800 million euro investment.

During the roundtable, GMV was joined by other prominent players, including Multiverse Computing, Telefónica, and TECNALIA Research & Innovation, all dedicated to strengthening Spain’s quantum ecosystem. The Strategy seeks not only to advance quantum research but also to prepare society for the transformative impact these technologies will have, from enhancing electrical grids to optimizing drug development.

GMV highlighted its contributions to quantum computing through the CUCO project, as well as its ongoing initiatives in quantum technologies for Space and Cybersecurity. GMV also emphasized its continued commitment to R&D+i in this field, collaborating with Spain’s leading research centers and the broader quantum ecosystem in computing, sensing, and quantum communications.

The event underscored the potential of quantum technologies over classical computing, capable of solving complex problems in minutes that would otherwise take centuries using traditional methods. It also highlighted the industrial applications, such as precise energy grid planning, advancements in medicine, and climate risk simulation. This initiative aims to position Spain as a global leader in quantum technologies, particularly in key areas such as quantum computing and communications.
