Lisbon hosts the Annual ASD Convention

GMV will be attending the Annual Convention of the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD), which takes place from 10 to 12 October in Lisbon. This convention, organized by the trade and investment association (AICEP) Portugal Global and DANOTEC, is an annual event bringing together representatives from the most varied clutch of European associations, European commissioners, MEPs and members of the boards of directors from the biggest worldwide companies in the defense and aeronautics area.

For the first time in Lisbon the convention will be attended by the President of Portugal, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, the Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho plus a large number of official organizations. This therefore represents a golden chance to pass on knowledge about the importance of these value-adding sectors in the national market. The launch and expansion of one of the world’s most modern aircraft factories - Embraer en Évora – will also be another hot topic in the conference.

GMV will be present at the convention and in the Technology Forum, running its own stand and also featuring on stands of organisations with which the company has some sort of association in the aeronautics segment, like COMPASS and PEMAs, and in the defense and space segment, like DANOTEC and PróEspaço.

For the first time ever the convention will include a Technology Forum. This Forum offers a real opportunity for networking, idea sharing and debating the challenges now faced by the aeronautics, space and defense sectors.

ASD is made up by 28 member associations from 20 countries and represents over 2000 companies with almost 80,000 suppliers, generating an annual turnover of 163 billion euros.
