In recent years fraud has spread like wildfire among industries and sectors of all types, causing huge financial losses and damaging the image and reputation of public and private organizations.

GMV has signed an agreement with the Spanish Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE Spain Chapter). ACFE is one of the world's largest anti-fraud organizations with more than 70,000 members in over 150 countries. GMV has now become a collaborator of ACFE Spain Chapter, with the main remit of supporting the fight against fraud, promoting society’s awareness and training. As part of this drive, a series of information-raising activities will be held in the form of technical days, professional seminars and training courses for associates, professionals and companies.

 

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), with a 25-year track record behind it, now has a recently created Spanish chapter. It is a nonprofit organization that aims to serve the wider community by boosting knowledge of fraudulent activities and giving continuous education on fraud-detection, -prevention, -investigation, -deterrence and corruption. ACFE helps to cut down company fraud and provides the necessary training and wherewithal for combatting this problem as efficiently as possible. It also brings sector professionals together to swap notes.

One of GMV’s actions as ACFE member will be to build up a community of professionals collaborating in the carrying out of specialist training in groundbreaking, company fraud-prevention solutions. GMV has continually demonstrated its interest in society and its issues, in this case dealing with fraud-detection, -prevention, -investigation, -deterrence and the general fight against corruption.

Anti-fraud experts need a special set of skills that are not called for in any other field of study or discipline. These range from knowledge of complex financial transactions to an understanding of the methods, legislation and the best way of dealing with reported fraud cases.
