From 10 to 12 March GMV took part in the fifth International Defense and Security Tradefair, HOMSEC 2015, held in Madrid’s Juan Carlos I tradefair site (IFEMA).

The event, attended by over 160 national and international firms, was opened by the Minster of the Interior, Jorge Fernández Díaz, and was attended by practically all of Spain’s defense and security authorities plus 25 top-level international government officials, all of whom were given the chance to check out in situ the sector’s latest developments and phase them into their countries’ defense and security systems.

GMV ran a stand displaying its systems and solutions for state security and armed forces: C4ISTAR systems, surveillance, crisis management and monitoring systems, navigation systems and cyberdefense systems.

Within the JISR area, as part of Spain’s participation in NATO’s MAJIIC project, GMV highlighted its inhouse Mobile ISTAR Operating system (called SEISMO after its Spanish initials: Sistema de Explotación ISTAR Móvil), the Coalition Shared Database (CSD) and Atenea (IRM&CM Tool), which compile information from multiple sources in various formats, furnishing intelligence analysts with the necessary tools for exchanging ISR information and establishing workflows to ensure proper interaction in all phases of the JISR cycle. It also presented the command and control system C2NEC, entirely integrated with the JISR tools.

GMV also showcased its TALOS system, a complete command and control environment for the planning, management and execution of all fire support that might be needed by a brigade: field artillery, mortar fire, naval fire support and air support. GMV also displayed other command and control and surveillance and reconnaissance systems it has developed for the Spanish MoD and international agencies such as the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union (FRONTEX, shortened from the French Frontières extérieures) with the EUROSUR system.

Lastly, GMV displayed its developments in navigation systems, such as the Flight Control Computer (FCC) of the unmanned aircraft ATLANTE, one of the most critical pieces of equipment of the whole project, seeing to the aircraft’s navigation, guidance and control, and the multi-sensor navigation systems geared towards various environments and promoted in the VCR 8X8 and F110 programs.

GMV’s stand was visited by some of the event’s most distinguished guests, such as the Secretary of State of Defense, Pedro Argüelles Salaverría, the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Navy (Jefe de Estado Mayor de la Armada: AJEMA), Almirante General Jaime Muñoz-Delgado y Díaz del Río; the Director General of the Guardia Civil, Arsenio Fernández de Mesa; the Subdirector General of Technology and Innovation (TECIN), Jesús Manrique Braojos; the Subdirector General of International Relations of the Directorate General of Armaments and Material (Dirección General de Armamento y Material: DGAM), Arturo Alfonso Meiriño, as well as high-ups from the Spanish army and airforce, the Guardia Civil and the Ministry of the Interior, and delegations from Mexico, South Korea, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, France and Oman, among others.
