GMV, key player at EL PAÍS South Forum on Geopolitics and Peace Defense

On November 25th, GMV's CEO, Jesús Serrano, participated in the “Dialogues for Security: South Forum on Geopolitics and Peace Defense” event, organized by EL PAÍS newspaper at the Reina Sofía National Art Museum in Madrid.

The event featured notable participants such as the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles; the Secretary of State for Defense, Amparo Valcarce; and the Director-General for Strategy and Innovation in the Defense Industry, Miguel Ivorra, among other figures from national and international governmental organizations, defense and security experts, and business representatives. The forum addressed the most pressing geopolitical challenges of our time: geostrategy, the current military environment, the European Union's efforts to strengthen its defensive capabilities, and the defense relationship between the European Union and the United States.

GMV's CEO joined other senior representatives of Spain’s space and defense industry in a roundtable discussion on European strategic autonomy. During his intervention, Serrano shared his insights on the need for competitiveness in defense companies and emphasized the importance of Spain securing its rightful place within the framework of European defense policies. He also highlighted the leadership of the Spanish industry and emphasized the importance of cooperating within the European framework as a method to consolidate knowledge and address current challenges.

The event served as a vital debate for the future of global security and Europe’s role on the international stage.
