Space Week 3rd

GMV will be participating in the third edition of Space Week, to be held in digital format from May 12th to 27th, 2025. This event is organized by the GNSS Academy, with the aim of introducing various areas of the space ecosystem to a community of more than 3,000 young engineers, mostly between 20 and 30 years of age, who are interested in pursuing a career in the space industry.
This edition will feature a series of streaming interviews with industry experts, focused on exploring various subjects within the space ecosystem, including everything from in‑orbit operations to new technologies for space exploration and observation. The aim is to give these new generations an understanding of the types of everyday work that take place in the space industry, with an emphasis on the corresponding employment challenges and opportunities.
One of the featured participants will be Alberto Águeda, GMV’s Manager of Space Traffic Surveillance and Management. He will be the subject of a live interview focused on space surveillance and monitoring, which will take place on Tuesday, May 13th, at 7:00 PM (Central European Time). During the interview, he will be discussing the role of these activities in relation to protecting space infrastructure, and how this type of work is continuing to evolve in view of an exponential increase in the number of objects in orbit.
Additionally, Miguel Romay, General Director of Satellite Navigation at GMV, will speak on Thursday, May 15th at 7:00 PM (CET) about the present and future of satellite navigation in Europe, its impact on daily life, and the technological challenges posed by the development of new services.
