La Paz Hospital and GMV work to bring medical imaging technology from outer space to primary care facilities

AI can help with medical imaging training and diagnostic accuracy in primary care. Thanks to Alisse, personnel with no medical experience or training produced images of sufficient diagnostic quality nine times out of ten, fairly close to how expert sonographers performed on the same tests

The World Health Organization estimates that 80% of medical decisions are based on diagnostic imaging

Primary care services address over 90% of the reasons for patients’ visits, becoming the gateway to the public healthcare system

GMV to develop the PMMCare+ platform to facilitate comprehensive, holistic care for patients with multimorbidity

It will be working within the framework the European Carematrix project, which seeks to provide innovative solutions that improve the quality of comprehensive treatment for patients with two or more chronic conditions while increasing the efficiency of public healthcare services

PMMCare+ will provide the technical means needed to coordinate the work of the various teams caring for these patients, as well as to involve these patients in their healthcare

Carematrix is expected to achieve the following: a 20% reduction in time spent on visits to healthcare facilities, a 75% improvement in care-related aspects, a 50% reduction in patient data management incidents, and a 30% reduction in clinical errors

Cybersecurity in Ubiquitous Healthcare and Collaborative Research

The liquid hospital, a new patient care model based on e-health, represents a paradigm shift towards more personalized and precise medicine. The challenge in this context is cybersecurity in the interconnection between systems and medical devices inside and outside healthcare centers, as well as ensuring people's privacy

In silico research entails modeling, simulating, and visualizing biological and medical processes using computers. This context requires more collaborative research and data sharing for training mathematical models. Federated networks become a key element in ensuring the secure use of data

According to the IADB's cybersecurity guide for the healthcare sector, there is an average period of 329 days from a successful cyberattack to the institution’s awareness of its data breach

Cybersecurity incident response centers must possess advanced automation systems powered by artificial intelligence models. They need technology that can enhance the organization’s visibility when handling potential security incidents, along with response teams whose work is uniform and traceable

AI for early detection and prediction of Alzheimer’s disease

Analyzing speech can prove to be a valuable tool in predicting the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, according to research conducted using artificial intelligence tools in the TARTAGLIA project

Certain aspects of spontaneous language are linked to patients who exhibit an accumulation of beta-amyloid protein in the brain, a defining characteristic of individuals with this form of dementia

GMV applies artificial intelligence and "Real World Data" for the early detection of prostate cancer

It is the second most common type of cancer that affects more than 1.2 million men worldwide and is the third leading cause of cancer death

With its technology, GMV facilitates the application of evidence-based personalized medicine, as well as the development of clinical guidelines for the benefit of the patient

Together with PIONEER and OPTIMA, the Evidence Hub of the European Association of Urology (EAU) and TARTAGLIA are some examples of GMV's contribution to the fight against prostate cancer

GMV’s technology is being used at the ToxHub biomedical data platform to improve the safety of pharmaceutical products

The direct benefit of ToxHub is that it allows preclinical and clinical databases to be brought together into an integrated data infrastructure, to help increase the efficiency of clinical trials, reduce research times, and achieve better results for toxicity studies

The platform is being used to increase the safety of pharmaceuticals, replacing some of the animal research by applying retrospective analysis technology to the evidence compiled by the pharmaceutical industry

Digital Technology and Big Data are Advancing Personalized Treatments for Blood Cancer Patients

Almost 120,000 anonymized data records have already been identified for patients with hematologic malignancies. Research is now being focused on finding the most effective therapies that can cover the entire research spectrum for these forms of cancer, bringing new hope for those suffering from the less common types

GMV is the technological partner responsible for the secure platform that stores the data and makes it available for scientific analysis, with anonymization of the data and harmonization based on the common OMOP data model
