Space2Connect

The first edition of the Space2Connect Conference was held in October, a forum organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) to explore and discover emerging space-based solutions aimed at tackling the challenges and opportunities of the digital economy in the present and the future.

The conference was held online and broadcast from ESA-ESTEC, located in Noordwijk, in the Netherlands.

There were plenary sessions and several parallel sessions to promote virtual networking opportunities. The opening plenary session brought together manufacturers, satellite operators, space agencies, small businesses, business owners, technical experts, and investors gathered to ask the guests invited to the opening address questions about topics of interest.

The parallel sessions were used for attendees to share ideas to develop relations, as well as to search for inspiration to prosper in the new European space age.

GMV was, of course, present at Space2Connect. The company had a virtual stand open to all interested participants and also took part in the virtual "System & Future Preparations" room, where it shared with the attendees the latest results of various ARTES activities.

On the one hand, the results on “Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Satellite Communications (SATAI)” and on the other hand, the conclusions of the ADR-LEOCOM (Active Debris Recovery System for LEO Communications Missions) project, in which, it analyzed the technical and economic viability of a service aimed at recovering failed satellites.

The conference was a great opportunity to share the latest developments in advanced technology, products, and services in the sector.
