Space security takes center stage at Space Defence & Security Summit 2026

The third Space Defence & Security Summit (SDSS) took place in Paris on September 15 and 16, once again bringing together representatives from industry, institutions, and international organizations to address key challenges and opportunities across defence, security, and space.

Now firmly established as a leading forum for knowledge sharing and international cooperation, SDSS 2026 featured GMV in one of its panel discussions. Miguel Ángel Molina, Deputy CEO of GMV’s EST Space Systems, spoke on the panel “Space Domain Awareness in the Era of Mega-Constellations” on the first day of the summit, where industry experts discussed the evolving space security landscape as mega-constellations continue to be deployed.

The summit drew more than 480 attendees from 30 countries, providing an opportunity to exchange new perspectives on space security and defence. Over the two days, space and defence professionals exchanged views on the emergence of space as a key operational domain for sovereignty, as well as the need to develop new models of cooperation and increase investment in both technology and human capital.
