Resilience also depends on the ability of the ecosystem as a whole to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from potential incidents. Javier Zubieta, Marketing and Communications Manager for GMV’s Secure e-Solutions, illustrated this approach through real-world projects in the logistics sector and discussed the recommendations set out in ENISA NIS360 and how the most sought-after cybersecurity capabilities are evolving.Among the main challenges he highlighted were the integrated management of information and operational technology risks, stronger access controls in multi-company environments, and the extension of cybersecurity requirements throughout the technology supply chain. Detection and response, continuous monitoring, vulnerability and incident management, and business continuity are also becoming increasingly important capabilities for organizations. Mariano J. Benito, Cybersecurity & Privacy Ambassador at GMV, moderated the discussion “Are we vulnerable? Prevention and contingency plans and organizational impact,” which addressed the need to integrate security at every level of an organization. As Benito explained: “Technology is an excellent tool if we know how to use it properly, but security cannot be left to technology alone. It needs to be embedded throughout the organization: in its processes and, most importantly, in its people. That’s why it’s essential for those using these tools to understand the reasons behind security measures, receive appropriate training, and actively engage with them.” One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of “Study 1: Cybersecurity in the supply chain. Resilience as a collective property of the logistics ecosystem,” jointly produced by the Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC), the Spanish Logistics Center (CEL), and GMV.The study aims to assess how well prepared companies are to address cybersecurity risks and identify the main challenges shared across the logistics ecosystem. It is based on an increasingly evident reality: supply chain resilience depends not only on the strength of each individual organization, but also on the ability of the ecosystem as a whole to anticipate, coordinate, and respond to potential incidents.GMV’s participation in this initiative strengthens its collaboration with the logistics sector at a time when protecting supply chains requires a comprehensive approach. Technology, risk management, business continuity, training, and inter-organizational cooperation are therefore complementary elements of a single strategy: building logistics ecosystems capable of maintaining operations and recovering in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
