Visita delegación noruega

A Norwegian space industry delegation visited GMV’s headquarters in Tres Cantos, Madrid, on October 6 as part of Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Cecilie Myrseth’s trip to Spain. Coordinated by Rodrigo Ballesteros Cruz, Deputy to the Commercial, Innovation, and Tourism Counselor of Norway in Spain and Portugal, the delegation had the opportunity to tour GMV’s facilities and gain first-hand insight into some of the company’s key space projects and capabilities.

The visit began with an overview of the company by Pedro J. Schoch, GMV’s Corporate Development, Marketing and Communications Director, followed by a presentation of GMV’s activities in the space sector by Enrique Fraga, General Manager of EST Space Systems.

The delegation then toured several facilities supporting numerous space missions. Pedro López, NGSOS-NSGCS Section Head, presented the Multi-Mission Control Room, which is currently used to operate the IOD-1 satellite for the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Celeste mission. Bruno Néstor Calvo, Head of the Satellite Navigation Systems AIV Services Division, then showed the delegation the Galileo Program Operations Room, a replica of the operational control center for the European satellite navigation system. The tour concluded at the Robotics Laboratory, presented by Fernando Gandía, Head of the Robotics and Onboard Autonomy Division, where robotic systems for space exploration are developed and validated.

The visit provided an opportunity for GMV and the Norwegian business delegation to strengthen ties and explore new avenues for collaboration within the space industry.
