IXV (Intermediate eXperimental Vehicle) is a program of the European Space Agency (ESA) for developing future critical technologies in the fields of manned and/or unmanned missions. Launched in 2013, it will test out the most modern European atmospheric re-entry technologies during the hypersonic and supersonic flight phases.

GMV has been responsible for three activities: OBSW (onboard software + Software Validation Facility), navigation within the GNC subsystem and VMI (Vehicle Model Identification) and identification of re-entry aerodynamic parameters.

The 'production and qualification' phase scheduled to last about two years, it will enable GMV to make further progress in the development of onboard software, which plays an important role in guidance, navigation and control functions and subsystems and simulation and integration in a highly specialized technical environment.
