Innovating and changing is not a choice

To celebrate its 35th anniversary, the Spanish publication ComputerWorld held the COMPUTERWORLD 2016 prize-giving ceremony, recognizing outstanding work by ICT companies and institutions. Leading figures from the ICT sector assessed how technological innovation has transformed both companies and Spanish society over the last 35 years. One of the keynote speeches was given by Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, CEO of GMV Secure e-Solutions.

Innovation and excellence have always been two of GMV’s hallmarks. It is an outstanding example of a firm developing successfully from a university research group, then continually breaking into new sectors and spreading abroad on the strength of its ICT expertise.

Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, CEO of GMV Secure e-Solutions, gives us his view of what the digital transformation means and the opportunities it is generating. “We are now witnessing a radical change; sectors like healthcare, transport, education, finance, industry and, in general, the whole economy are now undergoing a sweeping, technology-driven change.
