This year’s event was held under the theme “Urgency and Ambition: Europe at a Crossroads” and focused on how Europe can turn political ambition into real-world operational capabilities.Over the two-day event, talks and presentations addressed a range of topics, including the future European Union (EU) Space Act, industrial competitiveness, and strategic autonomy.GMV participated in the European Space Forum as a platinum sponsor and also contributed to the program with two speaking engagements. Miguel Romay, General Manager of Satellite Navigation Systems at GMV, took part in the panel discussion “Galileo and Europe’s PNT Network – Securing Critical Capabilities,” where he discussed how Galileo and its complementary services are evolving to meet growing operational and security demands, as well as how Europe can protect PNT services, which are essential to society, against today’s threats.Meanwhile, Álvaro Manchado, Head of the GOVSATCOM Hub Program at GMV, joined the panel discussion “Secure Connectivity in Europe – Delivering a Sovereign Multi-Orbit Backbone,” alongside other industry experts. The discussion examined the role of European programs such as Galileo, GOVSATCOM, and IRIS² in strengthening Europe’s space capabilities, as well as the future development of secure, reliable, and resilient satellite communications capable of operating in hostile environments, together with the challenges and risks associated with their deployment.GMV’s participation in the forum provided an opportunity to showcase the company’s expertise in developing space solutions for satellite navigation and secure government communications. Once again, the exchange of knowledge between institutions and industry emerged as one of the event’s defining strengths.
