Europe is at a turning point in defining its technological and space autonomy. Achieving true sovereignty in these areas has become essential to ensuring a more resilient, innovative, and competitive future.

In this context, on November 12, GMV and OVHcloud held an executive dinner that brought together leading representatives of the Spanish space sector and public administration. The event served as a space for shared reflection on the challenges that will shape the course of the European space ecosystem, reaffirming the joint commitment to promoting a more autonomous and strategic sector.

Among those attending was Juan Carlos Cortés Pulido, president of the Spanish Space Agency, whose participation underscored the relevance of the debate and the importance of combining institutional and business efforts to strengthen Europe's position in the space sector.

The session opened with the keynote speech by Judith Arnal, senior researcher at CEPS and the Elcano Royal Institute, entitled “Technological sovereignty in Europe.” Her presentation offered a broad and in-depth view of the continent's role in defining its technological capabilities and reducing external dependencies.

The exchange of ideas allowed key issues to be addressed, such as technological sovereignty, the digital transformation of the sector, data governance, and opportunities in the dual sphere. It was an open dialogue that demonstrated that the future of the European space is built on listening, sharing, and collaborating.
