GMV en el IV ECSO CISO MeetUp: un enfoque estratégico para la seguridad en la cadena de suministro

On September 23 of this year, Mariano J. Benito, GMV's Cybersecurity & Privacy Ambassador, took part in the panel "Supply chain security: What can CISOs do to solve the problem?" in the framework of the IV ECSO CISO MeetUp, held in Valencia, providing a strategic and business focus on the security implications and dependencies generated in the relationships between suppliers and consumers in a supply chain.

Mr. Benito pointed out that the current approach is consuming excessive resources for the value obtained and that many CISOs address the problem only in their capacity as consumers, when all organizations have customers and must, at that moment, assume the role and obligations of a supplier. They ignore the fact that all organizations are part of a global network of suppliers and they fail to adapt to their dual role in it. Mr. Benito also pointed to some paradoxes arising from the differences between reality and the theoretical model applied, such as the fact that many organizations are also part of their own supply chain. As a result, many organizations are making considerable investments without achieving the appropriate levels desired for the organization in their supplies and in their suppliers.

As a solution to this problem, Mr Benito outlined GMV's experience and the solutions it has applied. These seek to simplify the current process and save effort while maintaining or improving the levels of protection and confidence in the supplies and suppliers the company incorporates into its business processes.
