On November 18, the CEO of GMV, Jesús Serrano, held a meeting in Brussels with the European Commissioner for Defence and Space, Andrius Kubilius, to discuss the main challenges and opportunities in the European Union’s space and defense sectors. Representatives from various GMV business areas also attended the meeting.

The meeting enabled a constructive exchange on the competitiveness of Europe’s space and defense industry, as well as on the future of EU programs and instruments in these areas. Emphasis was placed on the need for a strong and cohesive European Space Programme, integrating all stakeholders at both the EU and Member State levels, as well as on developing mechanisms to strengthen the links between the space and defense domains, and to promote a competitive, robust, and diverse industrial ecosystem.

GMV presented its proven track record as a leading reference in secure satellite control centers, resilient positioning, navigation and timing solutions, cybersecurity, border control, and multidomain C2 systems. The company also highlighted its contribution to flagship programs such as Galileo, Copernicus, GOVSATCOM, and EUSST, which position GMV as a strategic partner in achieving the European Union’s objectives in the space and defense domains. Furthermore, GMV underscored its active role as one of the leading European companies participating in European Defence Fund programs.

GMV reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy and expressed its willingness to continue collaborating with the European Commission, Member States, and partners to develop the next generation of European space and defense capabilities.
