UMA summer courses 2026: Quantum Computing and Dual-Use Defence

GMV will participate in the University of Málaga (UMA) summer course, “Technological Innovation. Strategic Technologies for Europe: Quantum Computing and Dual-Use Defence,” taking place in Málaga on July 15 and 16. Organized by the General Foundation of the University of Málaga (FGUMA), the course will bring together representatives from industry, academia, and public institutions to discuss the role of strategic technologies in strengthening Europe’s competitiveness, security, resilience, and technological sovereignty. Technologies such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and autonomous systems are becoming increasingly prominent in projects with direct applications in the business sector.

Representing GMV, Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, General Manager of Secure e-Solutions, will deliver the presentation “Dual-Use Technologies in Cyberdefence and Cybersecurity: Strategies, Innovation, and Market Outlook” on Thursday July 16. His presentation will examine the impact of dual-use technologies in strengthening cybersecurity and cyberdefence, as well as the innovation and growth opportunities they create for both the civil and defence sectors.
