Technological challenges for robotics as a driver of greenhouse innovation

Share
Details
Desafíos tecnológicos de la robótica para impulsar la innovación en invernaderos

The use of robotics is emerging as a key tool for transforming the greenhouse agriculture production model, by providing technological solutions to address challenges such as sustainability, operational efficiency, and competitiveness in the agri-food industry. The ability to apply robotics in controlled environments such as greenhouses is opening up new possibilities for process automation, resource optimization, and crop quality improvement. In this context, the use of robotics is becoming an important strategic approach to technological innovation, while driving modernization of the fruit and vegetable supply chain and its adaptation to a constantly evolving global market.

The in‑person workshop entitled “Technological challenges for robotics as a driver of greenhouse innovation” has been organized by Cajamar savings bank and the Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA), and it will be held at the Las Palmerillas Experimental Research Station in El Ejido in the province of Almería. During this event, industry experts and representatives will analyze the current challenges and opportunities presented by the use of robotics in greenhouses, and they will share some of their experiences and success stories that are now shaping the future of agribusiness. Miguel Hormigo, Manager of GMV’s Industry sector, will be participating in the roundtable discussion entitled “Use cases from companies that are developing robots, or proposing agronomic models for high-value crops (HVC) adapted to mechanization and robotics” (12:45 PM).
