The 8th Congress of Planetary Sciences and Solar System Exploration (CPESS-8) will take place from May 26th to 30th, 2025, at the University of Malaga’s School of Engineering. It is being organized by that university’s LaserLab and Space Robotics Lab teams, with support from the Spanish Community of Planetary Sciences and the Spain & Portugal Hub of the Europlanet Society.

This Congress is held every two years, to bring together members of the scientific, technological, and industry communities who are involved in research on the solar system and planetary exploration. Some of the topics being discussed at this gathering will be: Spanish participation in space missions, scientific instrumentation, data analysis, studies of planets and small solar system bodies, astrobiology, exoplanets, and international cooperation, especially with Latin American countries. A significant amount of space will also be dedicated to education and participation by young researchers, and to scientific outreach activities open to the public.

The event is aimed at researchers, students, engineers, scientific institutions, and companies working in the space sector, as a way of fostering collaboration between science and industry.

The company GMV will be participating as a sponsor of the Congress, to help strengthen Spain’s scientific-space ecosystem and encourage technological innovation applied to planetary exploration.

María José Brazal Aragón, Head of GMV’s Data Processors (DAP) - INGS - EST Division, will be participating at the event.
