Description
For our Client in Darmstadt we are looking for a Test and Validation Engineer for the Near-Earth-Orbit (NEO) segment of the ESA Space Situational Awareness (SSA) program. The purpose of this job is daily monitoring of industrial development activities, verification, acceptance testing and validation of the deliverables from the ESA industrial contracts for SSA NEO.
-Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide input to the procurement process of T&V work and attend related meetings on request
- Contribute to the management of work plan and other NEO-related industrial activities
- Support the organization, preparation, and close-out of reviews
- Deal with software problem reports, configuration change requests and their resolution
- Participate in the acceptance process, clearing final deliveries and installation of software in collaboration with ICT
- Consolidate and keep track of the software requirement baselines and its verification record
- Assist in the definition and development of tools to support the NEO system analysis and data visualization
- Represent the NEO segment in the CCSDS MOIMS
Requirements
-Academic degree: degree (or equivalent) in physics, astronautics, aerospace engineering, software engineering, systems engineering or a similar applicable field.
-Level of English: Advanced
-Technical knowledge:
- Good knowledge of system operations (automated and manual)
- Good knowledge of the ESA-tailored ECSS methods for software development, testing and acceptance, as well as agile development.
- Experience in the development and application of internationally recognized standards related to NEO applications, e.g. the Data Exchange Standard, the Scheduling and Commanding Standard, and the data flow in the NEO field.
- Good knowledge of algorithm and software development, testing, validation, and operations.
- Experience of working in geographically distributed multi-national project teams.
- Experience in work package and project management tools and methods, ideally in the ESA and SSA context.
