Description

The GNSS engineer will support the operation of the Galileo Reference Centre (GRC) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The GRC’s remit includes:

  • Performing independent monitoring and assessment of Galileo service provision;
  • Assessing, when feasible, the compatibility and interoperability of Galileo vis-a-vis other GNSS;
  • Providing service performance expertise to the Programme;
  • Supporting investigations of service performance and service degradations;
  • Providing an archiving service for performance data over the nominal operational lifetime of the system; and
  • Integrating data and products from EU Member States, and Norway and Switzerland.

The GRC operations engineer will help to carry out daily GRC operations in collaboration with the European GNSS Agency (GSA) and under the supervision of the Operations Manager. The job calls for passion, a genuine interest in GNSS data analysis and performance analysis and persons’ communication skills to liaise with the various stakeholders. The chosen candidate will be at the forefront of Galileo performance assessment and will help to improve and upgrade the Galileo Reference Centre.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Running GRC infrastructure for monitoring Galileo services;
  • Assessment of Galileo performance and support in looking into any incidents and proposing any necessary improvements;
  • Supporting GSA

Requirements

- Qualification: Degree in aerospace, IT or telecommunications engineering
- Level of English: Advanced
