Earth Observation Engineer

Description

We are looking for someone with the right skillset to provide support to the development of Earth Observation applications driven from the UK. This position implies technical assistance, contribution to proposal preparation and project management activities. Candidates must have a university degree in an Earth Science field of study and must have remote sensing skills (optical or radar) that can be applied to different domains (environmental, agriculture, forestry). Candidates should be able to work autonomously, from the phase of investigation and information retrieval (from existing technical/scientific sources) right through to the provision of a final technical solution.
Candidates should have proven experience managing projects; experience with ESA / EC projects is an asset.

Requirements

- Academic degree: MSc STEM Degree
- Level of English: Advanced
- Technical knowledge: 

• European Space Agency project management
• Technical writing
• Proposal preparation
• Python programming

- Desirable knowledge:

• Project management (agile/waterfall)
• Remote sensing
• Big data handling and analysis
• Statistical modelling
