The Mission Control and Operations subsegment (MCO) is a major building block of the EUMETSAT Polar System – Second Generation (EPS-SG) Overall Ground Segment (OGS). The EPS-SG OGS itself is part of the EPS-SG System, which comprises the Ground Segment (EPS-SG OGS), the Space Segment (Metop-SG) and other elements. The MCO contains two main components: Telemetry, Tracking and Control Component (TTCS) and the Mission Operations Component (MOC). The TTCS will be deployed in SVL and in turn it is composed of the following subsystems: TTC Station, In Orbit Test Bench (IOTB), Global Satellite Simulator (GSatS) and TTC Monitoring and Control (TLMC).
The candidate will be part of the MCO system AIV team. He/she will be involved in the integration, factory acceptance test, on-site acceptance test campaigns of the MCO subsystems. The associated tasks include: review of technical documentation of the subsystems, drawing up of the technical verification and validation documentation (e.g. test cases, test procedures, test report, verification control document, etc), preparation of the test environment and testware, execution of test campaigns during the different phases of the validation process, management of the verification status of the associated requirements and interfaces. The position also includes liaison with the client during the test campaigns.
Willing to travel to United Kingdom, and Germany with stays of several days if required.
