GMV will be taking part as sponsor of the Grand Finale of the FIRST LEGO League, to be held in Adeje (Tenerife) from March 22 to 24. The challenge for FIRST LEGO League 2018-2019 is “INTO ORBIT”; participating teams will be transported into space, where they will explore, rise to challenges and innovate within its vast expanse.
On Sunday 24 March, as part of the “FFL Talks”, Miguel Ángel Molina, Director of GMV Aerospace Commercial and Contracts Department, will be speaking about “The space sector and the encouragement of technological careers". After the speech he will be handing out the “GMV Strategy and Innovation Award".
As in every previous year FIRST LEGO League challenges kids aged between 10 and 16 to think like scientists and engineers.
The teams will have to carry out a Scientific Project to solve a real-world problem. They will also build, test and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game, operating at all times under the FIRST LEGO League signature set of values.
Faithful to its university roots in the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, GMV is firmly committed to nurturing budding talent. It therefore combines its business activity with initiatives to support and encourage the takeup of scientific-technological careers among the youngest sectors of the population.
