GMV obtains ISO 42001:2024 certification, endorsing the governance of its artificial intelligence systems

GMV has obtained the international ISO 42001:2024 certification in Artificial Intelligence Management, awarded by AENOR, which certifies the responsible management of risks and opportunities associated with the use of AI within the company.

This recognition covers both the development of artificial intelligence systems integrated into GMV’s own products and the solutions it implements for its clients, whom it supports in complying with the European Artificial Intelligence Regulation.

The certification has been granted to GMV’s Secure e-Solutions division for developments such as uQuery®, a solution based on Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing technologies that enables the analysis of large volumes of unstructured information and the agile extraction of relevant knowledge.

In a context where most of the data generated by organizations is unstructured and complex to process, uQuery® enables its analysis and the rapid extraction of relevant information. This facilitates decision-making and optimizes processes.

This technology has been applied in flagship projects such as TARTAGLIA, focused on the healthcare sector, where it contributes to accelerating clinical research, preserving data privacy, and supporting diagnosis in complex cases.

The ISO 42001:2024 standard, published as a new global benchmark, establishes a framework for the management of artificial intelligence systems that ensures key aspects such as transparency, traceability, data quality, security, and ethical and legal compliance throughout the entire lifecycle of the systems.

“ISO 42001:2024 certification allows us to demonstrate, with verifiable criteria, how we design and operate our artificial intelligence systems: with traceability, data control, and security guarantees from the outset. The assessment carried out by AENOR validates the Artificial Intelligence Management System implemented and maintained by GMV in accordance with ISO/IEC 42001, based on robust AI governance practices. This system enables systematic management of AI-related risks through processes that address applicable legal and ethical requirements, as well as traceability, auditability, and continuous improvement throughout the AI system lifecycle.
