9EC-SpaceDebris

GMV took part in the 9th European Conference on Space Debris, organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) between 1 and 4 April in Bonn, Germany. The event, the main international forum focusing on orbital fragment management, brought together experts from all over the world to tackle the current and future challenges of the space environment.

In recent years GMV has consolidated its position as Europe's leading developer of space surveillance, command and control systems and solutions for the mitigation, tracking and active removal of space debris. GMV's participation in the event was particularly noteworthy, with a delegation made up of 14 engineers from six of the group's subsidiaries. The company also led a total of 10 technical presentations and 3 posters, as well as contributing to over 10 additional papers in collaboration with partners from all over Europe. GMV also took part in two panel discussions, contributing its strategic vision of the sector's future.

GMV's participation in this conference reaffirms its commitment to a “Zero Debris” strategy, in line with the vision promoted by ESA and its recently published Zero Debris Charter. This approach aims not only to reduce the growth of debris, but also to ensure the long-term sustainability of the space environment for future generations.

With its consolidated experience and leadership in technological solutions, GMV continues to position itself at the forefront of space traffic management and orbital sustainability, working hand in hand with international agencies, institutions and stakeholders to build a safer and more responsible space.
