GMV invited to ESA’s High-Level Forum (HLF)

GMV was once again an active participant in the European Space Agency’s (ESA) annual High-Level Forum (HLF), which was held on 3 June at the European Space Technology and Research Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

This edition was particularly significant, as it coincided with ESA’s 50^th anniversary and was part of the preparations for the next ministerial meeting, scheduled for November. The meeting will define the Agency’s strategic lines of investment and space development for the next three years.

Every year, this exclusive forum brings together the main leaders in the European space sector with the goal of aligning visions and priorities at a key moment for Europe and its positioning in the new global scenario. Notable topics in this edition included the level of ambition for the next ministerial meeting, the strengthening of the sector’s competitiveness, and the institutional evolution of the Agency with a view to reinforcing Europe’s resilience, autonomy, and security in the space environment.

GMV was represented by Enrique Fraga and Miguel Ángel Molina, general manager and deputy general manager, respectively, of the Space Systems division. Molina also spoke on behalf of European space sector midcaps (medium-sized companies).

During the forum, GMV representatives stressed the importance of developing a more robust European industrial ecosystem, based on greater technological autonomy and a shared strategy that would enable Europe to compete with other space powers on an equal footing. Miguel Ángel Molina emphasized the key role of medium-sized companies as a driving force of innovation, leadership, and competitiveness in the sector, while Enrique Fraga highlighted GMV’s contribution to the development of Europe’s space sector and the role of the Spanish Space Agency as a catalyst for strategic investments.

GMV’s participation in this forum, which has become a key event for dialogue between industry and ESA, reaffirms its commitment to technological leadership and its active role in defining European space policies. With over 3,500 employees and a strong international presence, GMV is continuing to cement its role as a strategic player in the development of cutting-edge, sustainable space capabilities.
