Ciberseguridad Andalucía 2025

On April 2nd and 3rd, Malaga once again hosted the national cybersecurity stakeholders at the 4th Andalusia Cybersecurity Conference. During this major event, Antonio Sanz, regional Minister of the Presidency, announced the creation of a new cybersecurity testing laboratory in Malaga. This lab will focus on assessing the security of IoT devices and artificial intelligence-based projects in sectors such as healthcare and smart cities. Part of the Argos Network project, the laboratory will be managed by CIAN and equipped with a cyberattack simulator and specialized tools, designed to support companies, universities, and research organizations.

GMV participated both in the official program and the exhibition area, sharing its expertise at one of the conference’s most relevant roundtables: “Digital sovereignty and cyberdefense in a changing world,” moderated by María Pérez Naranjo, General Director of Digital Strategy at the Digital Agency of Andalusia. Representing GMV, Javier Zubieta, Marketing and Communications Director of Secure e-Solutions, joined high-level experts from CCN-CERT, the Joint Cyber Space Command, the Cybersecurity Coordination Office (OCC), and the Spanish Institute of Strategic Studies for the discussion.

New regulatory framework

In his speech, Zubieta focused on Europe’s real cyberdefense challenges, drawing attention to the findings of ENISA’s NIS2 360 report, which highlights the vulnerabilities of strategic sectors such as public administrations and the space industry. In the latter, GMV plays a key role as the cybersecurity provider for Galileo, the European satellite navigation system operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) since 2018.

He also emphasized the impact of the new European Cyber Resilience Act, particularly concerning reliance on the technological supply chain. To address these challenges, GMV has developed its own algorithm to assess the impact of these risks on its operations, especially regarding the services it provides to clients.

Zubieta insisted on the urgent need to strengthen digital autonomy through investments in domestic technology companies, skilled talent, continuous innovation, and frameworks that favor the development of sovereign capabilities.

Additionally, GMV had its own stand in the exhibition area, where it showcased its advanced cybersecurity and connectivity solutions, engaging with clients and partners eager to learn first-hand about its capabilities.

The 4th Andalusia Cybersecurity Conference was organized by the Digital Agency of Andalusia through the Andalusian Cybersecurity Center (CIAN) and attracted over 3,000 professionals, experts, and institutional representatives at the Malaga Trade Fair and Convention Center (FYCMA).
