GMV GNSS Cryptographic Module

Common Criteria certified module for secure cryptography in Galileo services

  • Print
Overview

Trust and cryptographic security for Galileo systems

GMV GNSS Cryptographic Module is a software cryptographic module designed to offer advanced cryptographic services in GNSS applications, including the Galileo OSNMA Service (Open Service Navigation Message Authentication).

Based on official OSNMA cryptographic algorithms and certified with EAL2 according to the Common Criteria (CC) standard, this module guarantees robust security for the next generation of navigation applications.

Official certification by National Cryptographic Authority
Description

Security, certification and key specifications

Technical specifications

The GMV GNSS Cryptographic Module has been developed under the Security by Design approach, providing not only the official OSNMA cryptographic algorithms, but also additional security measures such as secure memory management, reliable erasure of sensitive data, strict control of states, and self-executing tests for continuous verification of system integrity.

Common Criteria Certification

The GMV GNSS Cryptographic Module is EAL2 Common Criteria (CC) certified by the National Cryptologic Centre (CCN), subordinate to the Spanish National Intelligence Centre (CNI). This independent international certification confirms that the module has successfully passed a design, development, and documentation evaluation, providing a solid guarantee of functionality and security in the global market.

Security management and support

GMV has implemented a strategic plan to manage and monitor the cybersecurity of the GMV GNSS Cryptographic Module, for at least 5 years, which includes the following support channels:

  • A vulnerability publication channel. Any new vulnerability identified in the module will be analyzed and published in the NIST National Vulnerability Database (NVD).
  • A specific communication channel through the email [email protected], where end users and researchers can report vulnerabilities or request additional information about the security of the product.
International Recognition

Common Criteria certification is globally recognized through mutual recognition agreements such as SOGIS-MRA and CCRA. This endorsement allows its acceptance in more than 30 countries, including the United States, Canada, Japan, and Germany, consolidating its position as a reliable security solution in international markets.
